for Jim Leeke who will be retiring at the end of this semester, after four decades
of dedication to his students and colleagues. The event will be in the Faculty
Lounge (H-101) after our General Assembly on May 16, from 12:30 p.m. until

JACFA BBQ Canceled
We're sorry to announce that due to a FNEEQ Congress and conflicts with other events already booked on campus, exceptionally this year, JACFA will cancel the Annual Faculty BBQ which was announced in the JACFA News for May 23.
Release for Master's Degree
Our faculty collective agreement (article 7-6.00) includes resources distributed provincially to provide release time for teachers who are completing a masters
degree allowing them to access level 18 on our salary scale.
In recent years, numerous John Abbott teachers have benefitted from such a release, particularly those participating in the PERFORMA masters of education program (although masters degrees in any discipline are eligible). Priority is given
to those who are closer to the completion of their degree.
The final application deadline is May 15, but you will need to give in the form
and required documents to Human Resources in advance of that date so that
they can complete their section. You can refer to the official administrative
guide
in order to fill the form (the official version is in French).
